Wire-free Rack PDU sensors

RF Code’s R170 tags integrates with ServerTech CDUs or Geist PDU to allow power monitoring information to be transmitted an utilized by RF Code's wire-free radio frequency infrastructure. This results in comprehensive power monitoring information from Server Technology’s CDUs or Geist's PDU being made available to DC Insight solution.

R170 CDU Tag for Server Technology

The R170-0B02 CDU Sensor Tag is compatible with Server Technology’s Smart and Switched CDUs with PIPS (Per Inlet Power Sensing) and with or without POPS (Per Outlet Power Sensing). The tags periodically transmit their own unique ID and, depending upon the model of CDU, transmissions include CDU product information (model/serial/etc), CDU phase and outlet power usage information such as amperage, voltage, apparent power, active power, and breaker status. This solution enables customers to monitor power information from each CDU at a dramatically reduced cost by the elimination of wires/cables, IP addresses and IP address administration.

R170 PDU Tag for Geist

RF Code and Geist have worked collaboratively to integrate RF Code’s wire-free sensor technology with Geist’s rack power distribution units (PDUs), including phase configuration, average RMS amperage, feed line set ID, and tower ID. The result: the RF Code R170 PDU Sensor Tag for Geist,  which enables data center managers to monitor real-time power consumption and utilization via RF Code’s wire-free sensor network and Sensor Manager application. The RF Code / Geist solution is ideal for data center managers that want to minimize wiring and eliminate the costly administrative overhead of managing IP connections to each PDU.

The easy-to-deploy wireless RF Code & Geist solution enables IT racks to be instrumented quickly for power monitoring and eliminates the time and cost associated with expensive wired Ethernet connections.  Deploying the joint solution simply involves installing the Geist PDU into the rack and then plugging an RF Code sensor tag into Geist PDU.  All IP address association, configuration, and IP address maintenance is eliminated drastically reducing the cost of PDU power monitoring.
